C. L. Zastrow is a native Michigander, born and raised in the "Middle of the Mitten".  Ms. Zastrow graduated from Central Michigan University's School of Music with a B.S. in Instrumental Performance (Trumpet), and a B.F.A. in Broadcast and Cinematic Arts.  After a brief stint in the U.S. Navy, she changed professions, becoming a professional Firefighter/EMT/HAZMAT Technician, something that she still does today on her local Fire Department.  She also has extensive experience in K-9 Search and Rescue and Evidence Detection. Ms. Zastrow has studied Medicolegal Death Investigation at the St. Louis University School of Medicine, and was awarded a Master of Science Degree in Forensic Toxicology from the University of Florida in 2005.  She currently works for both State and Federal Government.
 
Ms. Zastrow is a member of the American College of Forensic Examiners, the Michigan Association of Medical Examiners, and the International Association of Bloodstain Pattern Analysts.  She is also a First Degree Black Belt in Chang Moo Kwan Tae Kwon Do.
